Welcome to RANGERSTOWN 2015-10-02 With training camp just around the corner we caught up with GM of the Rangers and he gave some inside scoop on some of the recent moves and what to expect. "A lot of our free agency moves were made just to expand depth of this team. We were looking for a third line center and Derek Roy should fit in nicely and has couple of good years left in him for sure. We went in hard after Tom Gilbert but he opted for another team and we respect his choice. We made couple of offers that went from 1 to 4 years but couldn't really agree with him. Also Alex Semin enjoyed his first and sadly only year in Big Apple. We kept in touch but the market was way too big for him and we couldn't match what was offered. Same story with Dominic Moore. Now onto Rick Nash trade. We felt we needed bonafide scored and Nash fits the bill quite nicely. We gave up some good pieces but we like what we got and we are glad to reunite a line that definitely needs another shot of playing together. Nash-Richards-Gaborik combo. They had a shot before with John Tortorella but wasn't given much time to produce. We hope Dave Tippett can do exactly that. Onto training camp - We already started our informal training camp and here is a look what we are trying out.
